TOPIC:Designing Intelligent Motivational Technologies

Abstract:

In the past, understanding users in the field of human-computer interaction (HCI) focused on cognition (how we think), so that technologies could be designed with appropriate metaphors and affordances to maximize usability. However, more recently, it has become apparent that understanding motivations (why we do or do not perform certain actions) is also a critical part of understanding users. With this knowledge, we can design technologies to increase and improve behaviors that benefit users and society. In this talk, I will first provide a broad-brush history of HCI. I will then present a number of projects my research team and I have worked on to understand people's motivations and to leverage these insights in the design of intelligent technologies. This includes the design of incentives to encourage online participation and the use of tailored messages to and plans to influence health behavior change.

TOPIC:THE SMART WAY IN OUR FUTURE LIFE

Abstract:

With the development of 8K and 5G, our future life styles are changing gradually, especially in the AI era. Applications and business opportunities of 8K and 5G in our 8 life styles, including work, family/social, safety/security, health care, circular economy/internet of vehicle, education, entertainment, and e-commerce/business, will be addressed with examples. With 8K and 5G technologies developed in-house, Hon Hai/Foxconn group has its AIoT (AI + Internet of Things) business scope in smart home, smart factory, smart office, smart education, and smart hospital. Hon Hai/Foxconn smart education ecosystem with integration of hardware and software will also be addressed in the speech.
